Day - 08 Hour (United States of America) This is a Stanford Health Care - University Healthcare Alliance job. A Brief Overview The Medical Assistant functions as a member of the clinic patient care team. The position performs clinical tasks and procedures to support the delivery of care. The Medical Assistant is responsible for assisting patients obtain services in a timely manner and assuring efficient utilization of resources and in the coordination of patient care. The Medical Assistant III performs the duties of a Medical Assistant I-II, in addition, independently performs the full range of responsibilities within the function. Possesses broad job knowledge, analyzes problems/issues of diverse scope and determines solutions. At an experienced level, knows how to apply knowledge and put it into practice with in-depth understanding of health care practices. Experienced level, independently applies knowledge and skills to perform the full range of responsibilities, utilizes broad knowledge of healthcare practices to problem solve and determine solutions. Locations Stanford Health Care - University Healthcare Alliance What you will do C-I-CARE Executes world class practices of service and patient care in support of C-I-CARE standards. Uses C-I-CARE templates and the following components for all communication with patients and staff: CONNECT with people by calling them their proper name, or the name they prefer (Mr., Ms., Dr.) INTRODUCE yourself and your role COMMUNICATE what you are going to do, how long it will take, and how it will impact the patient ASK permission before entering a room, examining a patient or undertaking an activity RESPOND to patient’s questions or requests promptly; anticipate patient needs EXIT courteously with an explanation of what will come next Job Scope: Performs all of Level I and II in addition but not limited to the following: Care Coordination for patient’s needs, which includes tracking that patient referrals and testing are completed Work collaboratively with team, to develop plan for daily assignments Support MA's Level I & II Patient flow management responsibilities Preceptor for new Medical Assistants/students Participates in Internal Clinic audits Professional communication style Participates in development and maintenance of A3 for department improvement Scribing for providers Knowledge: Same as Level I and II and, in addition: Requires knowledge and understanding of practices and procedures in an assigned area or clinic. Begins to develop leadership knowledge/skills. Knowledge of other departments and the ability to float to various departments. Level of Supervision: Functions independently seeking assistance as appropriate. All other duties as assigned including department-specific functions and responsibilities: Performs other duties as assigned and participates in organization projects as assigned. Education Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. Medical Assistant Certificate/Diploma from an approved school/institution or equivalent documented training required. Experience Qualifications Three (3) years or more of related experience required. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Same as Level I & II, in addition: Professional verbal and written communication skills stated above in CI Care. Super-User for Clinical Computer Systems. Demonstrate ability to orient new Clinic Staff to the Clinical Computer Systems. Licenses and Certifications BLS - Basic Life Support required . Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $29.99 - $38.23 per hour The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
